DIY deodorant, the recipe

A goodDIY natural deodorantit must have antibacterial properties, neutralize the bad smell of sweat, smell good, respect the skin and it must be breathable. In many recipes ofdo it yourself deodorantsthere is kaolin (white clay) which, in fact, works very well as a natural deodorant but is not recommended. The use of white clay is not recommended because it contains aluminum, aluminum blocks pores and prevents sweating, so it works as a deodorant due to its antiperspirant properties, just like rock alum. In the recipe of the DIY deodorant that I propose in this article, the kaolin has been replaced with simple corn starch, the one that is among the ingredients in the dessert department of the supermarket.

What it takes to make home deodorant

  • A recycled pack of deodorant sticks
  • 2 tablespoons of 100% Natural beeswax (stabilizer, makes the deodorant more solid)
  • 2 tablespoons of baking soda (for its deodorant properties)
  • 1 tablespoon shea butter or cocoa butter (solid at room temperature)
  • 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil (emollient and moisturizing)
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 16 drops of tea tree oil essential oil (for antiseptic / bactericidal properties)
  • Essential oils to perfume (fragrances for men or women)

How to make home deodorant

The preparation of theDIY deodorantit is very simple. The only advice is to use an old bowl to be used only for cosmetics: beeswax is really difficult to wash off.

Melt the beeswax, shea butter (or cocoa butter) and coconut oil in a double boiler. When the components begin to melt, add the solid ingredients (corn starch and baking soda), mix everything well and remove from heat. Add the essential oils and when the product has reached a thick (but not completely solid) consistency, transfer it to a stick container for deodorant.

Essential oils, perfumes for men and women

In diy deodorant for men, add:
1 drops of Vetiver Essential Oil

2 drops of Cedarwood Essential Oil

InDIY deodorantwith feminine fragrance add:

1 drop of Sweet Orange Essential Oil

For a fragrance suitable for both men and women, you can use a fresh blend given by:
