Let's take food, primary among needs, and the way people eat: what is the situation on the planet? What is the future? What are the trends of change and what are the possible ways of transformation that can ensure respect for ecological and cultural balances? These are the themes of the sustainable agrodiversity and of food biodiversity discussed at the conference 'The Worlds to feed', on June 14 in Milan, organized by Mondohonline in collaboration with the Information Office of the European Parliament.

There is not only a world to feed, there is also a world to respect for how it feeds. Let's explain: experts have identified 33 indicators that correlate 157 countries based on the composition of their food consumption. Areas of agrodiversity is biodiversity which allow to identify 6 different clusters for processes on the planet e nutritional needs. Homogeneous macro-areas in search of solutions coherent with their peculiar characteristics and their needs of, in fact, biodiversity.

Today, experts always say, the world is oriented by the economic and nutritional standards of a West where well-being means health, lengthening of the average life span but also pollution, insecurity and pathological risks. But despite this being the dominant style, the world remains polycentric and made up of different countries by type of agricultural biodiversitynutritional and general.

The conference 'The Worlds to Feed' aims to define what are the trends of change not for the planet but for each cluster and what are the transformation paths that can ensure compliance with ecological balances and cultural. We will talk about new production structures and types of producers, of food pathologies of an epidemic nature, of consumption paradigms and contamination of food styles, and more.

And again we will talk about: creative megacities grappling with enormous security problems, markets, companies and technologies that operate in the transformation of cultivated land, accelerating structural change at the expense of biodiversity, international bodies and policies of sustainable agricultural development that seek to guide an economy characterized by behavior that is not very sensitive to the interests of equilibrium of systems.

The speakers: Bruno Marasà, Head of the Information Office of the European Parliament in Milan; Carlo Alberto Rinolfi, President of Mondohonline; Matilde Ferretto, Economist at the Milano Bicocca University; Alberto Battezzati, nutritionist, lecturer in Food Sciences at the University of Milan; Francesco Morace, Sociologist; Giuseppe Longhi, Urban planner lecturer at the IUAV University of Venice; Stefano Bocchi of the Department of Agriculture at the University of Milan, Salvatore Caronna, European Parliamentarian of the Agriculture and Rural Development Commission; Claudia Sorlini, President and coordinator of the Scientific Committee for Expo, professor of Agricultural Microbiology at the University of Milan; Luciano Segre, Economic historian and president of the Mondohonline Scientific Committee.
